Mediabox
Mediabox, is a Department for Children, Schools and Families fund that offers disadvantaged 13 – 19 year olds the opportunity to create their own media projects, from photography and design to print and video games. Hundreds of organisations across England have already benefited from the scheme, impacting the lives of thousands of young people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
There are a variety of grants available, ranging from £1,000 to £40,000, for organisations to create and distribute youth-led media projects that enable young people to express themselves and get their voices heard.
"Mediabox has given me so much and asked for so little. It let me do something that I always wanted, all in the bid to broaden my horizons and hopefully broaden my career prospects in the process. By taking part in a Mediabox project I have learnt so many new skills and developed my confidence. I will see the effects of it my whole life." Andrew, aged 19.
Mediabox is delivered by a consortium led by First Light Movies and Media Trust, in partnership with Skillset and the UK Film Council. For more information go to www.media-box.co.uk
